A house made of mirrors built for the Desert X art installation will be torn down in the next 30 days.
The Palm Springs City Council, who hates all things cool and fun, declined this week to overturn a planning commission decision requiring that the popular cool attraction be torn down, repots the Desert Sun. The council voted 3-2 to destroy the house – with council members Ginny Foat and J.R. Roberts voting against removal.
“This is an important piece of artwork that’s part of a hugely successful program,” Roberts said.
And that’s very true. But, Palm Springs gotta be Palm Springs so, of course, the house will soon be gone forever.
