A Desert Hot Springs mother, who reported her car stolen on Saturday, spotted her ride a few hours later at the Del Taco drive thru – and that is when things got interesting.
Via The Desert Sun:
At about 9:20 p.m., officers were called to the 12-800 block of Cholla Drive regarding a car theft. The owner reported her son stole her 2008 Scion XB, according to Desert Hot Springs police.
Later, at about 11:45 p.m., the woman was driving north on Palm Drive when she noticed her car in the Del Taco drive-thru lane at Two Bunch Palms Trail.
She pulled into the parking lot and waited for the Scion to exit and she noticed it was driven by someone later identified as a 16-year-old boy, according to police.
Her son and two other boys were inside the vehicle.
The woman then confronted the boys, who ran away. A police officer found them a short distance away and both the driver and the woman’s son were arrested.
Not much more is known, other than the fact that the mother is going to have a super-weird Christmas letter this year.
