A man who stole luggage from a guest at the Desert Hot Springs Inn was quickly arrested after video of the incident was posted on Facebook.
The manager of Desert Hot Springs Inn, Paula Terifaj, told KESQ she installed security cameras after a recent series of vehicle break-ins at the property. Those cameras caught a man appearing to steal a suitcase next to a parked car, then speed off.
Terifaj posted the surveillance video to Facebook and, within an hour, she received calls tipping her off to the suspect.
Authorities were notified and the Desert Hot Springs Police arrested 46-year old Danny Cater – who admitted he stole the suitcase after officers found it on his back patio.
