Desert Hot Springs man arrested, accused of offering underage girls money to get in his car

A Desert Hot Springs man was arrested for allegedly offering money to two teenage girls to get in his car on Thursday, according to police.

Daniel Hernandez, 21, approached the two girls on Park Lane near Mission Springs Park on Thursday at 7:12 a.m., The Desert Sun reports.

Hernandez offered the girls cash to get into his Honda, but they refused.  The girls kept walking, then called police.  Cops searched the area, but did not find the suspect.

The next morning, one of the girls saw Hernandez driving the Honda in the same neighborhood.  Police responded and arrested Hernandez.

Hernandez was arrested for lewd or lascivious acts on a child and child annoyance.

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department says that there have been five reports this year of a suspect approaching teenage victims with an offer of money to get into his car and make out with him.
