Cops find $2.3 million linked to drug ring in home a block from Disneyland
Authorities seized $2.3 million in cash that was from a drug-trafficking and money-laundering group with ties to the hometown of notorious drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.
The Anaheim home, on West Katella a block from the Magic Kingdon, was raided on May 5, reports KTLA.
The house was one of several residences investigated by the FBI, the Internal Revenue Service and local law enforcement during a two-year-long investigation during which several investigators found ties to Culiacan, the hometown of the now-captured “El Chapo” – according to the LA Times.
No drugs were found inside the Anaheim residence, but it is believed that the home was, at times, a storage site for “large amounts of narcotics.”
