CVS Health is expanding its no-cost coronavirus testing program across the state of California, including several locations in the Coachella Valley.
The sites will begin operating on Friday. Those looking to get tested must register online in advance for an appointment. Once scheduled, patients will drive up to the pharmacy drive-thru window or a location in the parking lot at a few stores, where they will be provided with a test kit and given instructions. The company says a CVS Pharmacy team member will observe the self-swab process to ensure they are done properly.
Tests will then be sent to an independent, third-party lab for processing and the results will be available in about three days.
The local sites include:
- 84010 Avenue 50, Coachella
- 42150 A Jackson St., Indio
- 44075 Jefferson St., La Quinta
- 425 S. Sunrise Way, Palm Springs
