An 82-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a driver in Palm Desert Friday morning.
The crash happened a little after 7 am at Hovley and Portola, according to KMIR. Police say that a 77-year-old driver was making a left turn when he hit the cyclist, who was thrown for his bicycle.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with deputies. It is not believed drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
The cyclist was taken to the hospital to be treated for major injuries.
