A couple attempting to flee from Elmer’s Restaurant in Palm Springs without paying their bill were arrested by detectives who were seated at the table next to them Tuesday morning.
A group of detectives were seated at the eatery at 8:30 am when they noticed a couple that had just gotten up to walk away from the table next to them was acting suspiciously, notes the release.
Restaurant staff confirmed the couple had just dined and dashed and the detectives followed the couple across the street. The duo separated in an attempt to elude police, but were quickly apprehended without incident.
Shawn Deans, 27 of Palm Springs was arrested for felony probation violation, defrauding an innkeeper, and burglary. Shona Morrison, 35 also of Palm Springs, was arrested for misdemeanor probation violation, defrauding an innkeeper, and burglary.
