El Niño has been slacking so far this year – but, it looks like, finally, The Coachella Valley could see some rain this weekend.
Temperatures will begin to cool off on Saturday, with the wet stuff happening on Sunday and early Monday. How much rain will actually fall? Well…
“How heavy the rain, snow and wind get in Southern California will depend on how quickly the storm strengthens as it approaches the coast,” says AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski.
That said. Here is the most recent rainfall predictions:

It looks like quite a bit of rainfall will hit west of the pass, with a couple inches possible in Banning, while The Coachella Valley see much less than that – with 2/3 of an inch in Palm Springs and less than a tenth of an inch forecasted for La Quinta.

Snowfall is predicted in the mountains, with up to a foot of new snow possible:

With the rain, will also come winds – so be sure to drive carefully, especially seeing as how every time it rains in the desert, people tend to lose their minds.
