Police are looking for a man who they say bit a bartender’s finger completely off outside of a bar. The biting man, according to police, was angry that the bar was closing.

The bartender had told the drunk man – who had been at the bar earlier, left, and then came back – that the bar was closed. This made the man irrate, according to NBC Bay Area, and the man went nuts:

The bartender went outside to tell the customer to knock it off, police said, which is when he allegedly started climbing on top of the bartender, hitting him in the face several times and bit his ring finger, severing it, Manfredi said. The customer then left the bar with some friends, police said.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but has since recovered and is back at work.

Surveillance video of customer filmed an hour before the incident was released Monday, a month after it happened – as police are hoping he public can help identify the man.
