A Palm Springs man was arrested just after 1 a.m. on Monday morning as cops claim he was firing a gun into the air in his backyard while screaming into a cellphone.
Evan Joseph Ianni, 31, faces the charge of Discharge of a Firearm with Gross Negligence after police were called to a home on North McCarn Road by someone in the neighborhood who heard shots fired.
In a release, police say they arrived to hear shots fired again and found Ianni yelling into a cellphone in the backyard. Police determined Ianni to be under the influence of alcohol and they say that he was in possession of two handguns, ammunition, and handgun magazines.
Police do not believe that Ianni was firing at anyone and there are no additional suspects.
Who knows, maybe he was just trying to order something from GunTV?
