Riverside County released the official vote totals from the November election Tuesday night and while Jesse Marx of the Desert Sun does a pretty good job of breaking down how the Coachella Valley voted in the Presidential race (overwhelmingly Hillary) and on the ballot measures (legalize), there was one interesting nugget that really stood out.
Riverside County was one of only four counties — all in Southern California — to vote in favor of Proposition 60, which would have forced porn stars to wear condoms on screen. The issue defied the typical partisan breakdown: Indian Wells, La Quinta, Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage joined together in voting no.
Yes, you read that correctly: Indian Wells and Rancho Mirage voted against requiring porn stars to wear condoms.
This election was just full of surprises.
