The Desert Sun reports on the Indian Wells Golf Resort, which has lost enough money over the past 10 years to buy over 3.7 million Big Macs, pay Jennifer Lawrence or The Rock to star in a movie, or sue 50 residents for overgrown hedges in court:
Over the last decade, the Indian Wells Golf Resort has lost almost $15 million, with the city projecting in January that its underused signature amenity could face another $5 million operating deficit over the next five years. The course is bleeding money, with no sign of stopping soon.
The course was built at a cost of a whopping $97 million in 2006.
Sounds like money well spent.
