As you have probably noticed, the weather is suddenly hot af in the Coachella Valley. But did you know that Indio set an all-time temperature record for the month of April earlier today? Probably not, because the record is a, well, kind of unique one.
According to the National Weather Service, the temperature in the early morning on Sunday only cooled to 79 degrees and that is the “warmest overnight low” temperature in Indio during the month of April since 1894, when they started tracking these things.
The previous record was 78 degrees and that was set all the way back in *checks notes* 2019.

According to the forecast, there is really no relief in sight (although next weekend might be slightly cooler).
Be sure to stay hydrated, stay in the shade, and, with it being as hot as it is so early now, you might want to go ahead and just think about skipping on the hiking for a while.
Looking ahead at the next 10 days ?
?️⏫ Temps rising Tue/Wed, with heat lingering Thu.
?️? Cooling off Fri into weekend (still likely warmer than normal).
?️? Another warm-up is possible the first week of May, forcing temps back to well above average. #CAwx pic.twitter.com/1NyG0YZ4aT
