Indio Police arrested a man on Wednesday on suspicion of indecent exposure, evading a police officer, and assault with a deadly weapon.
The incident began at 9:50 a.m., reports The Desert Sun. Cops were called about a man seen masturbating in his silver Dodge van near Dr. Carreon Boulevard and Oasis Street.
The vehicle was gone by the time authorities arrived, but they received a similar call about a man in a silver van near Monroe Street and Fred Waring Drive. When the cops arrived, the van was there, but not for long – as the van drove away “at a high rate of speed”.
Police chased the van, but stopped due to safety concerns at Dune Palms Road and Fred Waring, with the van continuing westbound.
A short ways up the road, at Fred Waring and Adams, the driver of the van tried to pass between two stopped cars at an intersection. He struck both cars and, somehow, a curb.
Police then caught up to the van and arrested Nicholas Vrabel.
The other drivers were not injured in the collision.
