Yucca Valley mom arrested after 4-year-old found wandering alone in park

Police arrested a Yucca Valley woman on Sunday night after her 4-year-old child was found walking alone in a park.

Police responded to Jacobs Park after someone found the child alone about 6 pm, according to Z107.7. The child said she had been there for over an hour because her mother was “too busy” and her grandmother was gone.

Police took the child to her home on Onaga Trail where they found the front door open and the child’s mother, 24-year-old Nicolette Chambers, asleep.

Chambers told police she had consumed four shots of vodka and two beers earlier in the day.

Chambers was arrested for investigation of felony child neglect. Her blood alcohol content was tested at .22 at 9 pm, 3 hours after the 4-year-old was found in the park.

The girl was was turned over to Child Protective Services.
