Some Palm Springs businesses were surprised to find hateful graffiti written on their stores Saturday morning.
Steve Luxenberg found the message shown in the above picture when he opened Boulevard, located in the Uptown Design District, on Saturday morning.
“There was graffiti written on my front window and it was just very demeaning and derogatory … I just felt violated and targeted when I saw that,” Luxenberg, the store’s manager, said to KMIR.
He told the TV station that anti-gay messages were found on at least half a dozen stores in the area.
“Six that I know of off hand saying different forms of hate toward different groups so I don’t know if this was just an anti-gay target but there was a number of them that were targeted towards gays,” he says adding it’s hard to accept this could happen in Palm Springs, “it shocks me because I just don’t, I don’t see that in our people that live here, I don’t see that negativity.”
