Desert Hot Springs Police arrested a man they say accosted two people at knifepoint, then led police on a foot chase that ended with him being taken down by a K9 unit.

Gary Preciado, 39, of Desert Hot Springs, is accused of threatening a couple with a knife outside of a business about 9:30 pm, according to KMIR.

Police were called to the scene and spotted Preciado walking nearby. He ran when he saw police, resulting in a lengthy foot pursuit – which included a K9 unit.
