Man accused of killing two Palm Springs officers deemed competent to stand trial

The man who police say shot and killed two Palm Springs police officers was ruled competent to stand trial on Thursday.

John Hernandez Felix, 27, is accused of shotting officers Jose “Gil” Vega, 63, and Lesley Zerebny, 27, on Oct. 8, 2016.

Felix will next be in a courtroom for a preliminary hearing on December 15.
