A man was arrested in Indio on Christmas Eve in connection to the robbery of an elderly woman in La Quinta in November.
The 77-year-old victim was returning home from a local casino in the early morning hours of November 16th, when she was robbed of her jewelry and personal items outside the front of her residence, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept.
Investigators from the Thermal Station assumed the investigation and were able to identify the suspect responsible for committing the robbery, Joseph Perry Johnson, 41 years old of Louisiana. On December 24th, Johnson was located at a residence in the city of Indio and arrested.
He was later booked at the Indio Jail for Robbery and Elder Abuse.
