An Oregon man held his own grandmother hostage and made her drive him around – all while he smoked meth, say police.
Robert White’s 87-year-old grandmother, who was not named, picked him up at a hotel on Saturday. He got in her backseat, pulled out a knife, and held it to her throat, reports Oregon Live.
White then made the victim drive him around for 12 hours while he rambled on about how the cops had been following him for the last nine months.
Sunday morning at 8 a.m., Smith called 911 and police took White into custody.
His grandmother was exhausted but not harmed, according to police. She told police that her grandson is a heavy meth user and that his family has been trying to help him, reports KGW.
White was arrested on unlawful possession of meth, kidnapping, menacing and other allegations.
