An investigation is underway after someone stole 20 bicycles designed for adults and children with disabilities from an Indio non-profit.
Thieves broke into the Desert Ability Center’s storage unit in the middle of the night and took specialty bikes, tires, and helmets, all designed for people with disabilities, according to KESQ.

The organization is now raising money to replace the bikes (here) and Leticia Collins, secretary for Desert Ability Center, is asking whoever took them to bring them back.
“If you have any bit of remorse or any bit of heart, turn it back in. Turn it back, turn it back in, in the middle of the night to the police station just like you did when you stole it from the facility. We really need it. We’re pleading to you to return the equipment.”
