A Free Día de los Muertos Celebration Comes to Palm Springs Art Museum
Palm Springs Art Museum is making room for music, art and remembrance on Sunday, October 25, 2026, with a free Día de los Muertos celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event takes place at the main museum, 101 Museum Drive in Palm Springs. The museum’s registration page lists both adult and child admission at $0.
What is planned
The announced program includes artist-created altars honoring loved ones, bandana printing, alebrije mask-making and other hands-on activities.
There will also be a Ballet Folklórico showcase featuring local dance groups in the Annenberg Theater. Sonidos Dolores is scheduled to play cumbia in the museum atrium from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. If live music is your priority, that gives you a useful window to plan around.
The celebration centers on remembering loved ones and sharing traditions through art, music and community. Leave time for the altars as well as the activities.
Check the costume guidelines before getting dressed
Costumes are welcome, but the museum excludes costume weapons, masks or full-face coverings, inflatable costumes and protruding pieces such as wings or shields. Arriving with face paint? Keep it to half the face; full-face paint is not permitted.
Use the free-registration link on the museum’s event page before your visit, and check that page again for any program changes. There is enough planned here to build a Sunday around without trying to squeeze in every activity.
