Palm Springs PD seeks public’s help in New Year’s hit-and-run investigation

The Palm Springs Police Department is asking anyone who may have information about a hit-and-run on New Year’s Day that resulted in major injuries to a pedestrian to contact them.

Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision at the intersection of N Palm Canyon Dr and Via Escuela where the involved driver fled the scene. Officers arrived on scene and found an adult male victim suffering from major injuries. Medical aid arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital.

Investigators collected evidence at the scene which belonged to a Red 2016-2019 Mazda Miata MX-5. However, based on all physical evidence found and injuries suffered, it is believed that the victim may have been struck by multiple vehicles.
