Police are investigating a crash that killed three people and a man found dead in the street in Palm Springs just a few blocks away. Investigators believe the two incidents may be related.
Calls of a traffic collision came into dispatch about 11:40 pm, according to authorities. Deputies arrived to Sunny Dunes Road near El Placer Road to find the vehicle was occupied by three people. All three were pronounced deceased on scene.

About 35 minutes later, at 12:15 am, Palm Springs Police received a call advising of a male lying in the road on Canon Drive south of Theresa Drive. Officers arrived to find a man dead in the road. It appeared that the male suffered a gunshot wound and was deceased upon arrival of officers.
The victim’s name was not released.
Each incident is being investigated as possibly related to each other based upon the timing and proximity.
