Palm Springs Police Officers’ Association takes jab at Buzz trolley
The Palm Springs Police Officers’ Association took to Facebook recently to smack talk the Palm Springs City Council and the Buzz Shuttle. The organization took issue with the fact that the city allocated a million dollars to operate the Buzz, but did not include any extra money for cops.
“I just wanted to make the public and anyone who follows us on social media aware that there is money available but the City Council and city government chooses to spend it differently,” Joe Cook, president of the Palm Springs POA, told KESQ.
The city’s 2017/2018 budget allocates over $43 million to public safety (47% of its budget), including over $23 million for police.
