There are a lot of things that this Palm Desert man will probably regret about Thursday night – getting behind the wheel drunk, side swiping a van, getting a DUI – and he will also definitely regret taking this mugshot.
Officers received a call at 7:45 p.m. from a person concerned about a man they saw get behind the wheel of a pickup truck, who the caller believed looked to be drunk.
A short time later, a motorcycle cop saw a pickup make an unsafe lane change and sideswipe a white Dodge Caravan at Highway 74 and El Paseo. The cop checked that the driver of the Caravan was ok, then stopped the pickup truck a short distance up Highway 74.
The officer then arrested 52-year-old Joseph Solomon on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
