A person was hospitalized with critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Mecca on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened in a field near Hayes Street and Avenue 71, according to KESQ. A person was found underneath a vehicle when police arrived.

That person was taken by CHP helicopter to the hospital for treatment.

No additional details were provided.
