The Playboy Mansion is about to be put up for sale, reports TMZ.
Playboy, of course, is not what it used to be, and so Playboy Enterprises is putting the 6 acre Holmby Hills estate, built in 1927, up for sale. The asking price: $200 million!
But, as TMZ notes, that will probably not be the sale price:
Real estate sources with knowledge of the area say the owners are dreaming when it comes to price. They say the reality is … the house is a tear-down and the real value is the acreage and that a comparable lot sold recently in the area for $60 mil, but the sources say because of its history the Mansion could go for anywhere between $80 mil and $90 mil.
Our sources say they believe the people at Playboy Enterprises will come back down to reality and list the estate at a realistic number.
So if you have an interest in the property (and $90 million to spare), you might want to make a call. But do know, the mansion is not really all they have made it out to be and the deal will require that Hugh Hefner be allowed to live in the property until he dies.
