The entitled, old-person community of Rancho Mirage doesn’t sound like the most fun place to live – what with the lack of people under 30 and outdoor music. But, they are willing to pay your gas money if you need to drive to nearby Cathedral City or Palm Springs to buy your weed!
The city originally launched a 6-month program in 2011 that gave residents a $25 monthly allowance to drive outside the city to buy their medical marijuana (the city does not allow weed shops) provided that your dispensary does not deliver. No one took advantage of the program and the city pretty much forgot about it – until this week, when they renewed it!
Surely some city residents should be taking advantage of this offer (these ladies perhaps?) and all that is required is that you show proof of transportation to drive to get your weed, such as a bus ticket or receipt to get your cash.
