An investigation is underway after the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department says was an incident in which a deputy accidentally discharged his service weapon during a domestic disturbance call.
No one was struck or hurt in the incident, which happened on Sagebrush Trail in an unincorporated area near Desert Hot Spring on Tuesday at 12:48 am, according to KESQ.
While approaching the home, the deputy says they inadvertently discharged their service weapon and a round hit an interior wall of the home.
A supervisor was notified and an investigation is underway to decide if the deputy violated department policies and procedures.
