A 17-year-old Palm Springs High School senior was arrested on Tuesday after police say posted on social media threatening to shoot people.

The post was seen on Monday and the student posted a second message saying he had no intention of shooting anyone, but the threats are still being taken seriously, officials told the Desert Sun.

The teen, from Cathedral City, was arrested at about 9:30 am outside of the Westfield Palm Desert mall.

The Desert Sun obtained the post which they describe as showing, “someone holding a handgun with the message ‘(expletive) from ps look out. I like it fits me ima start carryin.'”
