The first weekend of August is upon us, and while that used to make The Coachella Valley a virtual ghost town – things are different now as there are some solid options for this weekend:
- Daughtry: The best thing to ever come from TV’s favorite karaoke competition brings his band to Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on Saturday night. Tickets start at $29.
- Boston: The band’s debut album was released a whopping 38 years ago – but they are still going strong. See them perform Friday night at The Show at Agua Caliente Casino with ticket prices beginning at $75
- Dive in Movie: Palm Springs Wet ‘n’ Wild this week is showing “Grown Ups 2”. Watch the flick in the pool or out just after dusk.
- Free (and not free) Tribute Bands: Three tribute shows are on tap for The Desert this weekend. Fantasy Springs has tributes to No Doubt (Friday) & Aerosmith (Saturday) for free – while for $20, you can see a tribute to CCR at Spotlight 29.
- Top Rock: The Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs welcomes “Top Rock” – described as an interactive 80/90’s tribute rock concert. Featured songs include “Livin’ on a Prayer” & “Welcome to the Jungle”.
