Things to do in Palm Springs in July

June marks the beginning of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley’s scorching hot summer season and while things always slow down a bit, there is a lot more going during summer in the desert than there used to be (remember 15 years ago when almost everything shut down?!?). Here are you best bets.

4th of July

Independence Day means plenty of parties, mattress sales, and barbecuing (and with the hot weather this year, you don’t even need a grill!).  There are also quite a few fireworks shows around – with some taking place on July 3 and you may just want to stick around the desert as So Cal traffic is expected to be hellacious.

We have a full roundup here.

Jethro Tull | July 5

The band is in town to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their 1968 album This Was, which includes the songs “Some Day the Sun Won’t Shine for You,” “My Sunday Feeling,” and other stuff your dad used to make you listen to on road trips. Tickets start at $59.
