Two small children rescued after 4 adults apparently overdose in Palm Springs apartment

Two small children were rescued by deputies with the Palm Springs Police Department on New Year’s Day after four adults in the same apartment appear to have overdosed on an unknown substance.

Police were called to San Rafael a little before 6 pm on Wednesday after receiving a 9-1-1 call regarding a person possibly in distress inside an apartment. Officers arrived and could hear the sound of a baby crying coming from inside the apartment.

After receiving no response at the front door, officers forced entry into the apartment and found three adult males and one adult female unresponsive. A preliminary investigation appears to show the adults overdosed.

Officers rescued two small children, who appeared unharmed, from inside the apartment and gave them to waiting family members.

All four adults were transported to the hospital where they are in stable condition.

At this time, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
