Those incredibly stupid days of walking across the street to City Hall to catch an Uber or a Lyft at Palm Springs International Airport are about to be a thing of the past.
For years, travelers were forced to walk across the parking lot and El Cielo in order to take anything other than a taxi – but, the city council finally relented and voted to allow Uber and Lyft pickups in in January.
And now, it looks like it is finally going to be official:
.@Uber ride-sharing service will begin pick ups at the Palm Springs International Airport beginning Monday, March 19. No more walking across the street – sometimes in the rain! – to City Hall or the courthouse parking lots!

Now if we could only get Southwest Airlines to fly into the airport…
Update: Now you can get 50% off your Lyft ride to or from the airport through April.
