A Van Nuys man has been charged with leaving his 9-month-old girl in his car for an hour while he got lap dances at a strip club.

Auwin Dargin, 24, pleaded not guilty Monday to one count of child abuse, reports KTLA. If convicted he could face up to six years in jail.

An assistant manager for Synn Gentleman’s Club in North Hills discovered the crying baby after growing suspicious of one of the club’s customers who kept going out to his car every fifteen minutes then returning.

The assistant manager and his cousin reached through a crack in the window and rescued the child. Then, via LA Times, they notified the father:

Dargin was in the middle of receiving a lap dance when the manager stepped in and stopped the action to notify him that they had just found his baby, he said. Dargin was angry that the manager stopped the dance.

Dargin left the club saying, “Just give me my baby and I know I am messing up,” Nadeau said.

Employees refused to give up the child and Dargin fled without his daughter.  Cops were called and he was arrested a short distance away.
