Will it Melt?: Helados Paletas Edition
Recently, a lot has been made about Walmart’s ice cream sandwiches and their gross way of not melting the way that ice cream should melt when left in the sun. But what about other delicious frozen treats? We put a Helados Mexico Paleta de Crema to the test in our 3rd installment of Will it Melt?
10am, 99 degrees
We unwrap what looks and smells like a delicious strawberry treat. The ice cream has only been in the sun for a little more than a minute and it is already starting to soften. We place the ice cream bar on a plate facing the hot desert sun and wait.

Well that was fast! 10 minutes in and what was once an ice cream bar has been reduced to a puddle of pink and red ooze with a few chunks of strawberry floating about. We are saddened by our loss of a yummy ice cream treat – but happy that it melts the way that a normal ice cream bar should!
