A woman who dropped off an old computer at a recycling plant, thinking it was worthless, may soon find out it was a collectors item that sold for a small fortune.

A recycling center in Silicon Valley is looking for a lady who dropped off an old Apple computer I along with some other electronic items that she had cleaned out of her garage after her husband died. She did not ask for a receipt or leave her name.

Turns out the computer was one of only about 200 first-generation desktop computers assembled by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in 1976, reports the San Jose Mercury News.

Once the recycling firm learned what the they had, they sold the Apple computer for a whopping $200,000 to a private collector – but, they do not feel right about keeping all of the money. The owner of the recycling firm has gone public with the story, as he would like to split the proceeds of the sale 50/50 with the woman.

And, I know what you are thinking, but the guy says he remembers what she looks like – but, nice try.
