Police were called to an Indio thrift store after a grenade was found in a piece of furniture.

The store was cleared out and the Hazardous Device Team investigated. The grenade, from World War II, was determined to be inert.

Sgt. Dan Marshall of the Indio Police Department told KESQ that the grenade was spotted in a drawer of a chest that was donated to the store.
