The city of Palm Desert is looking to replace all of that “art” that decorates the center median of El Paseo. If you have a little time, and some scrap metal, you could take home $2,500 from the city and have your “art” seen by old people in Tommy Bahama shirts and visors on their way to eat dinner at 4 p.m.

The city is picking 18 sculptures (plus three alternates) and the winning entries will have their piece put on display up and down El Paseo later this year.

All the details are here, but be sure your buddy with a truck is available as you have to drop off your art piece yourself and then pick it back up a year later when the city replaces your amazing piece with something clearly inferior.
