Joshua Tree Music Festival 2026: Pick Your Kind of Weekend

Joshua Tree Music Festival gives you a good reason to buy a ticket before you recognize every name on the poster. The October 8–11, 2026 edition mixes hip-hop, soul, funk and electronic music with camping, art and activities for kids. Come curious. Your playlist could use a few new people.

The first decision is whether you want one day of music or a weekend at the campground. That choice matters more than packing an itinerary with everything else called Joshua Tree.

Where is the festival?

It takes place at Joshua Tree Lake Campground, 2601 Sunfair Road, Joshua Tree. This is a separate venue outside Joshua Tree National Park. Put the campground address in your directions; a park entrance is not the festival entrance.

For valley residents, a single-day ticket is worth considering before committing to camping. Choose a day around the artists you want to hear, then settle who is driving home.

The October lineup includes:

• Friday: Cure for Paranoia’s hip-hop and Elias Alexander’s mix of folk instruments and electronic music.
• Saturday: Colombian electronic duo Acido Pantera and the blues, gospel and soul of Southern Avenue.
• Sunday: The Breaks, the funk and soul-jazz trio of Eddie Roberts, Stanton Moore and Robert Walter.

Those are starting points, not the entire bill. Listen through the lineup page before choosing a single-day ticket. Use the festival’s map and schedule for performance times, and leave some room to hear somebody you didn’t research.

Is it a reasonable festival to bring kids to?

There is an actual children’s program. Kidsville includes crafts, dance and movement activities, and the campground has a family section intended to be quieter after dark.

Children four and under attend free, but still need the free ticket added to the order. Discounted age bands cover children five to ten and juniors eleven to seventeen. Under-18s must attend with a parent or guardian.

Plan around the child who is coming, rather than the late-night version of yourself. Bring ear protection, leave time for breaks and pick a realistic point to call it a day.

Do you have to camp?

No. Admission options include single days and the full festival. Walk-in tent camping is included with admission; parking and taking a vehicle into the campground are separate purchases.

Leave room for the festival itself

Bring a refillable water bottle, sun protection and layers for the evening. Check the festival’s packing and entry information before loading the car.
