Ryan Gosling was in Palm Springs over the weekend to celebrate Eva Mendes’ 42nd birthday by chillin’ at Sinatra’s place, grabbing some takeout from Rick’s Desert Grill, oh…and he also saved a dog that was in the middle of the road from getting hit by a car.  An act that may finally get women to find this guy attractive.

According to ET, after nearly hitting the dog with his car, Gosling jumped out and heroically carried the pooch several feet to the sidewalk to the dog’s owner (smooth move to meet a celebrity, dog owner).  You can check out ET’s photos of the daring rescue here.

Gosling and Mendes reportedly stayed at the Sinatra house for 4 nights.  The joint rents for $2,600 a night, meaning they paid a total of $10,400 for their Palm Springs adventure – but, the place does have a recording studio and a sink with a chip in it courtesy of a champagne bottle slammed by Frank Sinatra, so totally worth it.
