Jamie Foxx is being hailed as a hero after the California Highway patrol says the actor pulled a man from a burning car after a fiery crash in Hidden Valley Monday night.

The driver, 32-year-old Brett Kyle of Newbury Park, drove his 2007 Toyota Tacoma into a drainage ditch near Foxx’s home around 8:30 p.m., according to ABC News.

The car hit a drainage pipe and concrete, causing it to roll over multiple times, according to police. The Tacoma then caught fire with Kyle trapped inside.

Jamie Foxx and another man ran to the scene, broke the car window, cut the seat belt, and pulled Kyle out to safety, police said.

“Jamie didn’t hesitate. He jumped out and ran to the car,” a member of Foxx’s publicity team told ABC News.

Kyle broke his collarbone, which in turn punctured his lung, but “he would be in a much worse situation if Jamie Foxx didn’t come along,” say officials. He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
