La Quinta Brewing Company took home a gold medal at the World Beer Cup – one of the largest beer competitions in the world.

The brewery’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Koffi Porter won the gold in the wood and barrel-aged beer category.

Koffi Porter is brewed with dark roasted, chocolate and crystal malts. After fermentation, the brewery adds locally roasted coffee beans from Koffi, a Coachella Valley coffeehouse.

The 2016 World Beer Cup had entries from 6,596 beers from 1,907 breweries representing 55 countries.
