Man accused of setting more than 20 fires arrested in Palm Springs

A man who police say started more than 20 fires in the Coachella Valley was arrested on Thursday.

Luis Josue Perales, 22, was arrested in Palm Springs, reports the Desert Sun.

Authorities say that Perales, who works as a security guard, set fires to four occupied buildings, one unoccupied building, six vehicles and 14 other pieces of property.

Of the 25 fires, six were in Palm Springs and the other 19 throughout the rest of the Coachella Valley.

No further details were given.

Perales is being held in lieu of $1 million bail at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning and is scheduled to appear in Riverside County Superior Court on Tuesday.
