New rule: When a big earthquake wakes you at 1 am, you get the next day off

A 5.2 earthquake struck near Borrego Springs at 1:04 a.m. – but you already know this as it woke you up, then kept you up the rest of the night. (Note: if you happened to have slept through it, please tell us your secret…or loan us your Ambien). Since everyone’s sleep was ruined for Friday, I propose a new rule: when a 5.0 or bigger earthquake hits overnight, we all get the next day off.
Seriously.
There are many people who need this.

Hopefully our local government officials can make this new rule happen, well maybe after they get some sleep first.
