Palm Desert’s Free October Concerts: Four Thursdays Left
Your lawn chair has spent enough of the year sitting in the garage. Palm Desert has four more reasons to put it to work this October.
The city’s free Concerts in the Park series continues on Thursday evenings at the Civic Center Park Amphitheater, with each show starting at 6 p.m. The October 1 opener is already behind us, but there is still plenty left on the 2026 schedule.
Pick your Thursday
- October 8 — y2k2k!: Pop, pop-punk and dance hits from the early 2000s. An opportunity to discover which lyrics have been occupying valuable space in your brain.
- October 15 — Franklin Wall: A mix of classic and current country.
- October 22 — 80’z All-Stars: Pop, rock and new wave from the decade that exercised very little restraint.
- October 29 — MJ Vibes: A Michael Jackson tribute with the songs, choreography and stage style.
Dinner can be part of the plan
The city says a food truck will be on-site each week, and you can also bring a picnic. Pack a blanket or lawn chairs. Alcohol and smoking are not permitted in the park. Official concert details.
The amphitheater is at the park near San Pablo Avenue and Fred Waring Drive. If you are meeting friends, agree on a specific spot; “somewhere on the lawn” becomes less helpful once everyone else has the same idea.
Our Civic Center Park guide has more on the park itself. For this outing, the essentials are simpler: choose a band, sort out dinner and remember the chair.
