A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in Palm Springs Monday evening.

Police arrived at East Vista Chino near N. Via Miraleste about 6 p.m. to find the driver of the car giving aid to the woman, reports KESQ.
The woman was taken to the hospital where she died.
This is the second time in six weeks that the intersection has seen a pedestrian die as a result of being hit by a car.
Update – 10:50 am: the woman has been identified as Jana Ploss, 64, of Palm Springs.
