Ridiculous Survey Claims Palm Desert Apartments are Most Expensive in California

An unbelievably ridiculous survey was posted on The Desert Sun today proclaiming Palm Desert to have the most expensive apartments in California:
Palm Desert tied with San Francisco in a monthly survey listing the most expensive California cities to rent a two-bedroom apartment.
Both cities had an average price of $4,500 in February, according to Apartment List, a San Francisco-based company that markets rentals. Palm Desert’s rate was up 4.8 percent from last year and San Francisco’s was up 2.7 percent.
Laguna Beach was the third most-expensive city with an average rental cost of $4,200. It was followed by Santa Monica, where the average price was $3,780.
A quick check to Apartments.com (which is linked on DesertSun.com) shows the highest apartment for rent in Palm Desert at $2,100 – with most being in the $900-$1,100 range.
I am assuming here that we all know that there is no way in hell that this survey is in any way accurate. But, I am hoping that somehow, someway it is Then, we can all sublet out Palm Desert apartments for a few grand extra a month. Then, with the extra cash quit our jobs!
